We know that if you’re visiting San Diego, you pretty much have in mind what you’d like to see and do. But naturally, one cannot know all of the things that our glorious city has to offer; which is what makes Hillcrest House a step above the traditional modes of “hotel” lodging.
Not only does our Innkeeper, Ann know all about the “haps in the neighborhood and beyond;” our location offers you the luxury of being your “hangout headquarters.” By that, we simply mean that we are where you can relax in privacy and yet conveniently explore the best that the city has to offer; undisturbed by rowdy crowds and tons of traffic.
You may not recognize it based on our off the beaten path location, but just a few steps outside our door lays a bustling hub of activity from award-winning restaurants to practically anything that might interest those who enjoy things of the hip and trendy variety.
In the midst of our mild Mediterranean climate, we’re almost positive that you’ll enjoy indulging in the wonderful sunshine; but in addition we’ve listed some alternative activities that just might enhance your stay. After all, this is your vacay, and it should be enjoyed your way!
1) Try a new take on happy hour by venturing over to the Excalibur Hookah Lounge. Just located a few blocks away, this proves to be a quaint and unique place to unwind. In addition to a variety of Hookah flavors, they also serve a variety of cocktails. Cheers!
2) Partake in an over the top St. Patrick’s Day by witnessing the streets of Downtown transform into an urban, super chic version of the beautiful rolling hills of Ireland.
3) Take pleasure in San Diego’s “Rodeo Drive” in the beachside town of La Jolla; replete with high-end art galleries and upscale shopping.
4) PB Alehouse is not only a Pacific Beach favorite in terms of the food but for their brewery as well. Speaking of beer, their Beer Cheese burger is decked out with caramelized onions and yes, you guessed it, house made beer cheese.
